A cinema is a place where people can see movies or news, based on serving a certain amount of audience, never less than 40 people. But there are different kinds of cinemas accordingly to the size and design of the rooms, the food offered at the place and the different updated kind of movies running in the cinema. Here in Colombia we have a famous cinema, its name is Cine Colombia.

Cine Colombia is the largest and oldest Colombian company in cinemas. This company was founded in June 7th, 1927, by a group of 20 Colombians entrepreneurs. Their focus was to show to the Colombian people different kind of movies running abroad. Over the course of time Cine Colombia went through some economical problems and was forced to close. By the year 1988, the grandson of one of the founders went into a quest of re-a living his grandfather’s dream, and opened back cinemas back again with great and warm acceptance by the audiences.

Cine Colombia’s headquarters is in Bogota, the Capital of Colombia although it has many branches throughout Colombia. The most relevant branches are located in the cities of Bogota, Medellin and Cartagena. These cinemas business does not only consist of just running a film but also on selling snacks and in others they have created special restaurant rooms with small table.

Each cinema consists of three different parts: the ticket office, the snacks stores and the cinema rooms. In the ticket office, they not only sell the tickets but customers are able to watch the different movies (8 in a count) running at the cinema as well as the schedule, if they are drama, comedy, love, action or foreign films; the cost of the tickets and some movie previews. The price of a single ticket is about 8 thousand pesos, but there is an exception with frequent viewers who had bought the Cine Co card membership. This is a special card that decreases the price of the ticket up to $ 2.000 pesos with these card ownerships may get special prices on snacks as well.

The snacks are one of the best attractions when running a film. Cine Colombia snack stores sell h pop corn, a great variety of sodas, nachos and hot dogs, among others plus 6 kinds of combs.
