Library

Most of the libraries that are in colombia are named becasue a important person that have done somthing for our country or city as the "Virgilio Barco" library that it located in the Avenuw  60 N° 57-60. This library was desgned by Rogelio Salomona, he had the idea to creat a library with teraces and many ramps in and out the libary, also he wanted a very natural space where you can relakx with fountains and grass. This library cost about $16.000 millions of pesos and it was inagurated the 21 of dicember of 2001.

In this library there are many rooms that hae a great varaiety and about 9 main rooms of them, as the room for children that is dsigned for a safer place and books for children or the "Videoteca" and " Fonoteca" where you can search for material of video. Also on of it biggest and more important room in the library is the auditorium that has a acapacity for about 200 people, it is small but has a great concurrence. 

The library has a great service for lending all the books and all the documents available in it and has a catalog in internet that make it easier to you to consultate the varaiety of books. The capaticy of collections is about 150.000 volumes. Also the library offers many courses for learning things as promoting of writing and reading or a especial program named  reading in the hospital that is for kids, teens and elders that are in a hospital.
